We Bought a Zoo - Adaptation and Drama – Starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church - Based on a true story, Benjamin Mee is a recently-widowed father who moves his family to a beautiful estate miles outside the city. The only catch is that the estate is also a dilapidated zoo replete with 200 animals, and the purchase of the home is conditional on the new owner keeping the zoo and its entire staff. The Mee family subsequently sets out to rebuild and refurbish the zoo to its former glory, making new friends along the way. MPAA Rating: PG for language and some thematic elements.
War Horse - Action/Adventure, Adaptation and Drama – Tom Hiddleston, Emily Watson, David Thewlis - A friendship begins between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the horse moves through the First World War, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets -- British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter. Beauty and the Beast 3D - Comedy, Romance, Animation, Kids/Family, Musical/Performing Arts – Starring Paige O'Hara, Robby Benson, Rex Everhart (II) - Belle is a bright and beautiful young woman who's taken prisoner by a hideous beast in his castle. Despite her precarious situation, Belle befriends the castle's enchanted staff -- a teapot, a candelabra and a mantel clock, among others -- and ultimately learns to see beneath the Beast's exterior to discover the heart and soul of a prince. MPAA Rating: G
Chronicle - Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Thriller – Starring Dane Dehaan, Michael B. Jordan, Machael Kelly - Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over. MPAA Rating: PG13 for intense action and violence, thematic material, some language, sexual content and teen drinking
The Woman in Black - Horror, Adaptation, Thriller, Sci-Fi/Fantasy – Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer - Arthur Kipps is widowed lawyer whose grief has endangered his career. When he is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of recently deceased eccentric, it soon becomes clear that everyone in the town is keeping a terrible secret. Although the locals try to hide the town's tragic history from Kipps, he soon learns that his client's house is haunted by the ghost of a woman who is looking for someone and something she had lost, and until she does, no one is safe from her vengeance.
